The “Merge test...” item on the File menu lets you merge several tests together into one test. When you select the item, you must first specify a name for the new test (the “target”). Then you will repeatedly be asked for a test to merge (the “source”). Clicking on the “Open” button merges the selected test into the target test. Clicking on the “Cancel” button stop the process and opens the target test so you can edit it.
Before the merge begins, Tester will check if the source test contains question categories. If it does, you can then decide whether or not you want to preserve the arrangement of the questions in these categories.
A progress indicator is displayed while the source test is being merged into the target test. You can cancel the merge by holding down the command key and pressing the period key. If you do this, the target test will revert to what it was before the merge started. You will not lose previous source tests that were merged with the target test, and you will still be able to merge in more source tests.
Once the merge is complete, Tester will check if the source test has general instructions. If it does, you can choose whether to use these as the general instructions for the target test.
